PRAYER FOR OUR COUNTRY
Starting This Wednesday at Noon in the Parlor

Without question, our country is facing crises on several fronts - moral, financial, educational, and natural disasters, just to name a few. However, these are but the symptoms of the real crisis - a spiritual one in which our country lives with "everyone doing what is right in their own eyes." (Judges 17:6).

But is this unique in history? Hardly, for as Solomon said "...there is nothing new under the sun." (Ecclesiastes 1:9). Satan's tactics never change, only their appearances.

Therefore the cure for our sins is similar to the call for members of the nation of Israel under Solomon, namely, (1) humility, (2) prayer, (3) a longing for God, and (4) a heartfelt repentance, all clearly prescribed in II Chronicles 7:14, "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

This "cure" is not to be taken just once a year, but every day by all true believers in Jesus Christ, especially as we are preparing to elect a new President, members of Congress, state, and local officials.

Accordingly, Bethel asks you to join in prayer for our country either individually, or corporately every Wednesday from noon to 1 pm in the Parlor beginning Wednesday, October 8th. Please feel free to come as needed. We hope you would take this opportunity to invite friends, neighbors, co-workers, any one God leads you to, all the while remembering:

"It is He (God) who changes the times and the epochs; He removes kings and establishes kings..." (Daniel 2:21)
